Dairy productivity and product quality, as well as complex issues of animal health and welfare, waste management, and water quality.
Farm Management / Agricultural Economics
Eta Takele is an Area Farm Management Economics Advisor. She can be reached at (951) 683-6491 x 243.
The Farm Management Economics program provides services to producers, lenders, and ag businesses in: 1. Evaluating economic returns and determining the optimum input of new production practices. 2. Developing crop production costs and analyzing grower returns. 3. Providing risk management and financial management education.

Livestock

Providing professional research and advice to support livestock and poultry professionals.
Master Gardener
Master Gardeners are available Monday-Friday 9:00 to 12:00. Please call(951)683-6491 x 0 and ask to speak to a Master Gardener.
Master Gardeners provide research and educational support to amateur/ home gardeners, in part through our telephone hotline volunteers.
Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences
Chutima Ganthavorn is our Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences Advisor. She can be reached at (951) 683-6491 x 223.
The NFCS program offers opportunities for families, individuals, and youth to enhance their quality of living by providing research and educational resources that promote good health and self-sufficiency.
Subtropical Horticulture
Tom Shea is a Staff Research Associate- Subtropical Horticulture. He can be reached at 951/683-6491 x224.
Serving growers, managers, and allied agri business people in growing and managing subtropical tree crops such as citrus, avocado, and dates.
Vegetable Crops
Jose L. Aguiar, Vegetable Crops/Small Farms Advisor. He can be reached at 760/342-2467 or jlaguiar@ucdavis.edu. Supports commercial vegetable growers, handlers, and marketers. Supports the limited scale producers of the Coachella Valley by providing research based information. Supports Pest Control Advisors in the identification and control of diseases and insect pests.
Viticulture
Carmen Gispert Ph.D, Viticulture/Pest Management Advisor. Can be reached at 760-342-2466, cgispert@ucdavis.edu The advisor develops research and educational programs and disseminates information to the wine and table grape industry in Riverside, San Diego and San Bernardino counties.
